1. Medical and Nursing Services

The Loyola University Chicago Wellness Center offers primary services such as medical and nursing services. During an academic year, the center is open on Mondays-Thursdays 8 AM-6 PM, on Fridays 8AM-5PM, and on Saturdays 8 AM-12 NOON. On summer, the Wellness Center is open from Mondays-Fridays at 8 AM-4:30 PM. Upon Loyola holidays, the center is closed. The campus security at Loyola University Chicago centers on protecting the lives and property of each individual inside the campus. 5. Health Promotion Services

At Loyola University Chicago, they believe that health is a state of total, mental, physical, and social well-being. As a result, they created the Health Promotion. This program can help students to boost their control over themselves and to recover their health and wellness by joining awareness campaigns, prevention programming, or response services. With the help of health directors at the Wellness Center and departments throughout the campus, they impart programs that center on alcohol, gender-based violence, and other drug-related issues, resilience and coping skills, body image, and overall nutrition.

Health and Wellness at Georgetown University

Student’s health and well-being are important to ensure that they can fully function in any upcoming events or exams. This could mean the difference between passing or failing an exam. There are some universities that didn’t value the wellness of their students. However, at Georgetown University, they offer accessible, valuable, and high-quality health services for their students and is committed to promoting the student’s health and well-being. The following are some of the health services that they offer to their students:

1. Medical Care Services

They have a student health center that offers a wide range of primary care services from Monday to Saturday, 7:30am to 5:30pm. However, on Tuesdays, they open at 9:30am to 5:30pm. While on Friday they open at 8:30 am to 4:30pm and on Saturday they open at 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Their health center offers different health services such as physical test, STI screening, well women, and pre-travel visits. Their health center also handles urgent medical needs such as injuries, infections, and even complex problems on the same day of appointments.

2. Health Education Services

At Georgetown University, they have a Health Education Services (HES) that supports their student well-being and provides a learning environment for the community and individuals. Their services include assessment, confidential crisis response, referrals, concerns related to sexual assault, stalking, relationship violence, sexual health, alcohol and drugs, eating disorders, nutrition, and body image.

Their clinical service is completely confidential and free of charge. Aside from the services mentioned, HES also focuses on interactive health promotion and primary prevention through training, campus programming, and health communication campaigns. They are open from Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm.

3. Counseling and Mental Health Services

They have our own Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) that provides mental health care services to their students within the main campus. A lot of students come to CAPS feeling confused, anxious, angry, lonely, overwhelmed, or depressed from the academic pressures and life events.

They advise their students to seek professional help if those feelings last for more than a few days. CAPS is open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00pm, and you can reach them by calling 202-687-6985. They also have an emergency hotline at 202-444-7243 and ask for an on-call clinician.

4. Emergency Services

If a student has urgent problems and is unable to have an appointment right away, they are assessed by a nurse or a clinician at the Main Student Health Center during office hours. Students can be provided with home care instructions and have a next day appointment or be given a same-day appointment depending on the urgency of the problem.
