The USC Trojans men’s and women’s basketball program competes in the Pac-12 Conference of the NCAA Division. This team is now coached by Andy Enfield, who takes this team to the home and away games. Students are recruited to be a part of the team throughout high school and as transfer students. Students must know how to shoot, dunk, and free-throw the ball, as well as have defense and offense skills.

The men’s and women’s golf team represents the USC Trojans in a number of golf tournaments. Students who are wishing to be a part of this program can contact the Athletic Office about the recruitment process which all students must go through in order to be considered. Students can then showcase how many times it takes them to get the ball in the hole, swinging the golf bat, and more.

The USC Trojans Track and Field program is one of the most renowned in the country. This team is coached by Caryl Smith Gilbert who takes her team to a number of regional, local, and national track meets. Students are generally recruited in high school, but you can also participate in open tryouts if there is space available. Students must know how to run fast, jump high, and more to be considered for this team.

7. Women’s Rowing Team

The rowing team takes part in a number of local, regional, and national competitions. Students do not need to have any experience to join, but they must know how to swim in the case of an emergency. Your swim skills will be evaluated in the tryouts. Students can also participate in the open walk-on tryouts in the fall. Students must know how to run long distances for an extensive amount of time and have skills such as hurdles and jumping.

This team represents the Knights on a local, regional, national, and international level. This team regularly plays at the Rutgers Softball Complex which is also where walk-on tryouts are held each fall. Students wishing to be a part of this team need to know how to bat, throw the ball, and run.

The women’s field hockey team represents the Knights in the intercollegiate Big Ten Conference. They were first founded in 1974 and are now coached by Meredith Civico. Students who are wishing to be a part of this team are generally recruited throughout high school if they already play on a team or if they reach out to the coaches themselves. Students should know the basics of field hockey before considering joining the team.

6. Swimming and Diving

Rutgers swimming and diving has released its 2019-20 competition schedule with five dual meets, a pair of home invitationals and multiple long-course events to prepare the Scarlet Knights for 2020 Summer Olympic qualifications, along with the perennial Big Ten and NCAA Championships. Students who participate in this team will also get a chance to compete at the Summer Olympics.

This team is coached by Mike Stickle and Christine Zoffinger. Students who want to try out can do so every spring in April. Students should know how to do a tuck, front and backflip, running flips, and other skills. This team is always looking for main bases, side bases, back spots, and more for competitions and cheering at games.

The Rowing Team at Rutgers competes in the Divison I NCAA at the Big Ten Conference. Students who are looking to join do not need any previous experience, but you will need to learn to swim. Students can try out for the team and gain more information during the walk-on tryouts that are held in the fall. Students generally need to be 5’8 or taller, have an athletic background, and a desire to win. This team is coached by Justin Price.

10. Football Team

Students who are looking to be a part of this team are encouraged to have a sports background and/ or previous football experience. A similar award is the National Merit Scholarship. Students must be a 2020 National Merit Finalist and commit to UW-Madison. You must commit to this school before May 31 in order to be considered. Then, you will notified if you will receive the scholarship.

If you are a student who will be entering the engineering field, you should apply for the Gary Wendt Engineering Diversity Scholarship. This is a $8000 award that has no due date. Simply be admitted into the college of Engineering and you will be entered into the running.

If you would like to study abroad, you should apply for the Wisconsin International Scholars Program. Students who hold a 3.5 GPA and were in the top 10% of the high school graduating class are eligible to apply. The Pittsburgh Chapter Scholarship is an award that is due at the beginning of every February and changes by the year. Every student can apply and over 5000 awards will be given to students. This is one of the best opportunities to earn some money at UW-Madison.

2. Land Grand Opportunity Scholarship for First-Year Students

The Eminence Fellows Program and Scholarship are for students who have applied and were accepted into the honors program. The scholarship reward is the cost of attendance at Ohio State for four years, plus a $3,000 enrichment grant accessible after the first year of successful study. The application deadline is November 12th. Some of the criteria are that the highschool student is top 10% in their class, strong test scores and GPA, service, and communication skills and demonstration, as well as leadership.

4. John and Annie Glenn Undergraduate Scholarship for First-Year Students

The scholarship requires highschool students to be in the 20% of their class, with an ACT overall score of at least 30, or an SAT score of 1340 and higher. The reward is $1000 for four years.

6. The Herbert Lehman Education Fund Scholarship for Upper Year Students

The Herbert Lehman Education Fund Scholarship is for students who are looking to continue their degree or transfering from a community college to a four year institution. The applicant must be African American, have a household income of $65,000 or less and be committed to public service. The application deadline is till April 1st and the reward is $8000($2,000 for four years). You also need copies of your resume, school transcript, application form, personal statement, SAT/ACT scores, FAFSA form, and two recommendation letters.

7. TACTYC Scholarships for Upper Year Students

The requirements to receive the scholarship is that the student must be within a 3.0-4.0 GPA, accounting student, 20 credited hours at least with at least 6 accounting credits done, one page business letter, and two page self description of professional goals/academic. Based on academic merit in high school, the University Freshman Scholarship is a $9600 award that is spread out over four years. Although there is no formal application, you must apply to admissions before November 1. Students must maintain 15 credits per semester to stay eligible. 

3. Out-of-state Tuition Waiver Scholarship

For the out of state students, the Out-of-State Tuition Waiver Scholarship is the one for you. This is an academically-based award that changes every year. They estimate that about $14,000 will be taken off your tuition costs. There is no application process, just admittance into the school. 

4. Presidential Scholars Program

5. Florida’s Bright Futures Scholarship Program

6. Bank of America Endowed Scholarship

If you are a finance student, you can apply for the Bank of America Endowed Scholarship. The amount of the award changes every year. That being said, you should apply online if you are a finance student by February 28 in order to be in the running for some money.

A unique scholarship out there is the Reva Daniels Metzinger Endowed Scholarship. This is a $1000 award for a student who is over 23 years of and has had a five year break in their education because of financial troubles. The online application is due March 1.

The candidate must satisfy at least two of the following conditions:(1) history of overcoming unique challenges; (2) first generation college student; (3) member of a low income family; (4) reside in a rural or inner-city location; (5) raised in a single parent household. The person must also show diversity through race, gender, ethnicity, national origin or geographic representation. The award is $2500 and the application opens in May.

2. Curro Honors Scholarship Program for First Year Students

The Curro Honors Scholarship Program allows students to have a unique experience by conducting research in areas such as physical, biological, and social sciences; business; international affairs; engineering; humanities; and the fine and performing arts. The application process is due by the 1st of February and also requires recommendation letters. Students are able to get around $3000 of funding each year.

3. Bradley Turner Leadership Scholarship for First Year Students

The Bradley Turner leadership scholarship is given to one new student of the school. In order to be eligible you must reside in the Columbus, Georgia area as well as apply at the Center for Leadership and Service. The student is rewarded with estimated cost for in-state tuition, room, board and up to $1,000 and renewable for up to three additional years.

4. UGA Foundation First Generation Scholarship for First Year Students

The UGA Foundation First Generation Scholarship is for those students who are Georgia residents as well as will be the first in their family to attend college. The scholarship is available to 12 first year students. To be considered you should fill out the FAFSA form by January first or as soon as possible. The scholarship is worth $5000 a year.

5. Goizueta Foundation Scholarship for First Year Students

The Goizueta Foundation Scholarship is for first year students or transfer students. The student must also be a resident of the US as well as fluent in Spanish and be a resident of Georgia. The award is given to those who have expressed financial need as well as have the application done by March 20th(the deadline). The scholarship is an award of $10,000 a year.

6. UGA Alumni Association Scholarship for Upper Year Students

The deadline is in January and the recipient will get $5000 a year that is renewable for the coming years as well.

7. Leaders for Tomorrow National Scholarship for Upper Year Students

The Annexstad Family Foundation supports the Leaders for Tomorrow National Scholarship. The scholarship is for students who have have exhibited moral character, grit and intelligence as well as made marks to show their leadership accomplishments. The deadline is January 1st as those who consider must fill out FAFSA as well. The students will receive a $5000 a year scholarship that can be used for the years coming for up to 5 years.

8. AT&T Scholars Program for Upper Year Students

This scholarship is for students who have transferred from a Technical College System of Georgia Institution with an associates degree in a certain topic such as energy and environment and aerospace. The scholarship payout is $5000 a year. You must have at least a 3.0 GPA with 12 credit hours a semester. You must fill out the application form and two letters of recommendation to the Technical College System of Georgia Foundation by June 16th and or October 15th.

9. Osher Re-Entry Scholarship for Upper Year Students

This scholarship is for those students who are either transfer students or those who are first time students who are between the age of 25-50 who are looking to attain an education. Those who are eligible must be enrolled part time or full time, maintain SAP (usually through satisfactory grades/performance) , have a 5 year gap between college education, and bet 25-50. The award is between $1000-$5000 but it also helps students if you have applied for FAFSA as well as the deadline for it is December 15th.

10. ACT Scholarship for Upper Year Students

The ACT Scholarship is for upper level students looking to engage in co-corricular activities to bring what they’ve learned in the classroom to life. Such examples of this would be internships in Capitol Hill or a possible internship abroad. The deadline is February 21st with winners announced in later March. The awards range from $250-$1000.

The University of Colorado Boulder is a public research university in Boulder, Colorado. The school has around 29,000 undergraduate students that attend the school. There are plenty of different sports to join that fits your interests. Here are 10 of the top sports.

If you are a National Merit Finalist, you will be awarded an unknown sum of money to help pay student loans. The deadline to apply is May first and the only way to become eligible is to declare Northeastern as your choice for an education.

2. National Hispanic Recognition Program

Hispanic students who are coming to Northeastern can apply for the National Hispanic Recognition Program award. The amount of money is undisclosed, but all documents need to be submitted by April 2. Contact [email protected] for more information.

3. The Boston Public High School Scholarship

The biggest scholarship that is offered to new students is the Boston Public High School Scholarship. Students who attended a public school in Boston and finished in the top 10% of their class can apply to get full tuition and room and board paid for. Students also must engage in at least 100 hours of community service per year and the application is due in early January.

4. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Matthew Bauer Fund

The Mr. and Mrs. Emil Matthew Bauer Fund is for students who are of German descent. This is an interesting scholarship that awards some internationally inspired students. The amount for this year is unknown and there is no hard due date that has been announced.

The Future Innovator Scholarship is an award of $1000 for a student who is currently in high school and looking into college options for the next academic year. The deadline is August 15 and is based off of high school merit.

Students who apply for the AmeriCorps Education Award can earn up to $6100. Any student can apply and there are no hard requirements. The selection will be based on both need and merit. The deadline to apply is October 1.

7. Say Yes Higher Education Compact

The Say Yes to Education group is one that helps students get into schools all over the country. Although there is not a set amount of money being awarded, members of the group can get anywhere from $1000 in assistance to entire tuition costs. All you have to do is become a member of the group and have a family income under $75,000.

8. Yawkey Scholars Program

The Yawkey Scholars Program is available for students who have financial needs. If your family earns less than $100,000 a year and you want to attend Northeastern, you can apply online. Students must be from Massachusetts and the amount of the scholarship changes based on need. The deadline is unannounced at this time.

9. Society of Women Engineers Scholarship

One of the more specific scholarships that you can apply for is the Society of Women Engineers Scholarship. More than 250 students will be awarded over $800,000. Females who are pursuing an engineering degree can apply. The application can be found on their website and is due March 1.

10. Ben A. Gilman International Scholarship
