Founders Week holds a very special place in all the students who went to SUU. It’s a story of heroism and selflessness that also serves as a reminder of the important value of receiving a higher education. In March, the Founders Celebration features a variety of events to pay tribute to the men and women who sacrificed everything to establish Southern Utah University. Some events include a lecture, dinner and silent auction, networking opportunities, and awards.

2. Carter Carillon Tradition

Students throwing their graduating caps

The Carter Carillon Tradition is when students on their graduation day participate in the traditional Commencement Processional.  Something that’s unique and sacred to the university’s graduates is passing underneath the Carter Carillon as they march to the center for the commencement ceremony. When new students begin their first-year they walk east through the Carillon as a way of signifying the sunrise of a new chapter in their lives. Graduates walk west signifying the sunset or as a way of signifying closing a chapter.

3. Homecoming
