However, some students are up for the challenge of taking hard classes. These classes generally are test heavy, homework heavy, or somewhere far in between. 1. ENGL 101 – Composition I

This class will challenge students to think critically about their own writing skills. Students will engage in classes where they will be provided with the necessary skills to research and conduct effective academic writing. Students will also learn more about how to critically analyze texts and give analysis for the texts given to them.

2. ABE 101 – Introduction to Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering

This class will give students an introduction to engineering careers and applications that they can use in various areas. These areas include engineering, biology, and science-based systems. This class will have a heavy emphasis on plants, animals, and soil-based systems. This class is very hands on so students have to be prepared to practice in and out of class.

3. MUS 110 – Basic Music Theory I

Even if you are not a music major, you can still learn more about music. A lot of people think that music is easy, however, it also requires students to think. Sometimes you may run into some math problems. This class will focus on the principles of music theory such as musical notation, texture, harmony, melody, and sight singing. Students will also learn how to analyze scores. This class requires students to both practice and study inside and outside of class.

4. PSYC 101 – General Psychology

This class will introduce students to the fundamentals of the field of psychology. Students will have to learn about memory, learning, development and growth of humans, and the reasons for behavior. This class will require students to study outside of class as well as it is test heavy.

5. CHEM 105 – Foundations of Chemistry

This class will teach you more about the field of chemistry. Students will learn about the design of different chemicals and the mixing of chemicals while they use equations they have learned in class. Students will also learn more about matter and measurements. This class will require students to do daily homework outside of class.

6. BIOL 105 – Human Biology

A look at the different areas of biology

In this class, students will learn more about the principles of biology. Students will learn more about the general characteristics of living things and how to characterize them from one another. Students will also learn more about the principles of contemporary life. This class is very hands on and homework heavy.

7. PHIL 100 – Introduction to Philosophy

Students in this class will have to think critically and outside of the box. Students will learn more about the different forms of reality, perception, learning, and values. Students will also learn how to apply these principles to the contemporary world. This class challenges students inside and outside of class.

8. GEOG 101 – Introduction to Geography

Students in this class will learn more about the world of geography. Students will learn about the various themes and elements that come into designing quality graphics for maps. Students will learn more about the world around them as well. This class will have students studying outside of class as this class is very test heavy.

9. ECON 330 – Money and Banking

Are you good at counting money? This course may be for you! This class will provide students with a basic introduction on the purposes of money and banking within the United States. Students will have to study inside and outside of class. Students will also learn more about the policy affects and rates on the economy.

10. ACCT 210 – Principles of Accounting I

Are you good at math? Students in this class will learn about the various principles and procedures when it comes to journalism and making financial statements. Students will also learn more about the economic entities that play a vital role in the world economy and in the world of accounting. This class will have a heavy emphasis on various subjects and will include a lot of homework as well.
